Adam Skibbe, MLA

GIS Administrator
University of Iowa

Bio: My position within GSS and CLAS is to offer GIS support to users in the department, college, and university as a whole. I am the chair of the University's GIS Technical Advisory Committee (TAC), which attempts to grow and focus the GIS community on campus. In addition to my support role I am also tasked with oversight of the GISIL (GIS Instructional Lab) in 243 Jessup Hall, assisting in developing research (as it pertains to GIS) for both departmental and non-departmental faculty, teaching short trainings sessions and short courses, and organizing ICIGO (undergraduate student group).

Research:
My research interests are focused primarily on the application of Geographic Information Systems to contemporary environmental and social issues. In my position with GSS I am available to consult on research questions which require GIS assistance, and if necessary, provide resources and solutions to assist in those projects. LiDAR 3D surface modeling.

Teaching:
In addition to GIS support I also offer trainings in Introductory GIS and other, more specific, topics. As noted previously I provide oversight for the ICIGO student organization, which seeks to provide community outreach in the form of GIS research.
